The ImageThink Method™
Six phases for leading change, large or small. It blends behavioral psychology, design thinking and the neuroscience of visual storytelling.
The six phases
A cycle: each phase leads to the next, and the whole process repeats.

Scan
From research to brainstorms, Scan gathers insights from many perspectives and gets the creative juices flowing.

Engage
From culture change to a bold new plan, Engage rallies your internal team to actively support the project.

Plan
With the team aligned on a clear vision, Plan turns ideas into actions with owners and due dates.

Implement
The rubber meets the road: actions are carried out and the plan comes to life.

Excite
Share your work with the world, build buzz and persuade your outside audience of its value.

Reflect
Whether the initiative succeeded or lost steam, Reflect reviews what worked and what didn’t.
Where it comes from

Behavioral psychology
In 1947 Fritz Perls, a founder of Gestalt therapy, described what we now call the Cycle of Experience: how we interact with the world. Its seven stages shaped the phases of the Method.

Design thinking
A human-centered approach to innovation. Each stage moves to the next, and the whole process is cyclical and repeatable.

Visual theory
70% of the brain’s sensory input is visual, and we are wired to see faces in objects. We apply colour theory, mnemonics and metaphor so ideas stick.
The Method in a session
Our Reflect and Vision workshops each take one phase and run it with your team in a single session.
